Development of sublimation inks for digital printing

This research project focused on the development of sublimation inks or digital printing inks based on active dyes for cotton and polyester textiles. The inks were to be printable in commercially available Epson InkJet piezo print heads of the DX series. Our resulting finished sublimation inks are now commercially available.
In addition, within the project we researched the placement of features in the ink that would enable the identification of counterfeit goods. In other words, the aim is to incorporate personalised unique selling propositions in the ink formulation, which can later be identified in the print on the item by means of simple tests.
The financing of the development work to be carried out from 01.01.2015 to 31.12.2016 was partly funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Free State of Saxony.
